Hayling student’s anger as thieves take vital notes

A STUDENT’S dissertation was stolen along with an iPad and purse.

Hayley Clarke had the work in her car, which was broken into in the NCP car park in Pan Street, Portsmouth.

The 22-year-old from Hayling Island is completing her masters degree in sport rehab at St Mary’s University in Twickenham and left the white BMW 3 series in the carpark on Thursday night.

Devastated by the theft, Miss Clarke said the real concern was that a year’s worth of her handwritten notes were in the stolen bag and without them it will be very difficult for her
to finish her dissertation in time.

‘The notes are so pointless and so meaningless to them that it will just be ditched somewhere and the thought of that is just horrible,’ she said.

Anyone who has information about the break-in, which happened between 6.30pm and 8pm in the car park near Argos, or who has seen an abandoned
A4 notebook in the area should call the Portsmouth Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.
