Leigh Park murder: Kevin Batchelor denies killing George Allison in fatal stabbing

A MAN has denied killing a 21-year-old who died in a fatal stabbing in Leigh Park.

Kevin Batchelor, 25, of Camborne, Cornwall, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today and pleaded not guilty to the murder of George Allison.

Mr Allison died at a property in Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park, on May 23 after being stabbed.

The defendant also denied wounding Chellby Ferrol with the intent of causing GBH to Mr Allison.

Mr Batchelor pleaded not guilty to wounding Ms Ferrol without intent.

Judge Keith Cutler set a date for the trial, expected to last two weeks, starting November 9 and remanded Batchelor in custody until then.

He told the defendant: ‘We are still on course for your trial on November 9.’

A 33-year-old woman, from Havant, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been questioned by police and released under investigation.

A 31-year-old man, from Hayling Island, remains under investigation for assisting an offender but will face no further action regarding the alleged murder.
