Police name 21-year-old man fatally stabbed after incident in Leigh Park

THE man who died after being stabbed in Leigh Park on Saturday night has been named by police.

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary were called to an incident in Tichborne Grove on Saturday, May 23 at 11pm, where a man and a woman had been stabbed.

George Allison, aged 21, of Riders Lane, Havant, died after he suffered fatal stab wounds at the scene.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘George's family ask for privacy at this very sad time.

‘Officers are continuing to investigate the incident that happened at 11pm on Saturday 23 May, whereby a 27-year-old woman was also attacked.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

‘Three people have been arrested in connection with George’s death.

‘Officers continue to conduct enquiries in the area again today.’

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44200184002.

Today a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed a third person, a 33-year-old woman from Havant, had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

She remains in custody at this time.

Officers have been granted extra time to question the 25-year-old man from Cambourne, Cornwall arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 31-year-old man from Hayling Island who was originally arrested on suspicion of murder has been further arrested for assisting an offender. He also remains in police custody at this time.
