A MAN was assaulted at knifepoint after three men wearing balaclavas stormed an address on Saturday evening before making off with money.

A 31-year-old man was attacked during the aggravated burglary at a property in Paddington Road, Copnor, at around 8pm, which saw three men fleeing with £200 cash.

‘Three men wearing balaclavas entered an address and made threats to the occupants,’ a police spokesman said.

Police have released a description of two of the suspects involved. The first man is described as black around 6ft 2in with a broad build who was wearing a black balaclava, black jacket and black jeans.

The second man is described as black, around the same height as the first man but with a slim build who it is thought was aged between 18-25.

He was wearing a black face mask, black hat/hood and a black thin jacket, similar to a raincoat.

The spokesman added: ‘We haven’t received any similar reports in the area.

‘We understand that people in the local area will be concerned about this incident and we want to reassure you that we are carrying out extensive enquiries and progressing all lines of enquiry available to us.

‘We are carrying out increased patrols in the area. If you have any concerns, please do come and speak to one of our officers.’
