Man arrested after spate of 'occult' sheep attacks in Hampshire
A MAN has been arrested following a number of ‘occult’ sheep attacks.
The 41-year-old from Winchester was arrested on suspicion of six counts of criminal damage.
A police spokesman said: ‘Officers investigating a number of sheep deaths in the New Forest have today arrested a man.
‘They relate to the deaths of sheep in Wittensford Lane and Kewlake Lane, Cadnam, and Penn Road, Bramshaw.
‘He remains in custody at this time.’
In November a dead ewe which had suffered a puncture wound to its side was found in Penn Common Road, Bramshaw, Hampshire.
A local resident found the sheep with a pentagram painted on its side, a star on its face as well as an inverted cross and the number 666 which is linked to the devil.
She told PA: ‘I was genuinely shocked to find something like that in the forest, I couldn't believe it.’
