A man exposed himself to a woman on a Portsmouth city centre bench – and two hours later caused upset when he made lewd comments to a 14-year-old girl in Poundland.

Police issued a picture earlier today of a man to whom they said they wanted to speak about the events of Sunday, September 20. They have since said that they have identified him.

The indecent exposure happened at about 2pm, say police.

A spokesperson said: ‘A woman reported seeing a man inappropriately touching himself whilst sat on a bench on Commercial Road.’

The woman said the man was mixed-race, in his late 30s, 5ft 4in, and bald. He wore a blue T-shirt, light denim jeans, and white trainers.

Police are linking this to an incident in Poundland in Commercial Road at 4.20pm on the same day, when a man was reported to have approached a 14-year-old girl in the store and made inappropriate comments.
