Man who stole pizza and wine from Gosport Co-op store sentenced for eight thefts

A man has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison for a series of thefts at a Co-op store in Gosport.

Danny Gattrell, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to eights thefts from the store during a hearing at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 23.

From October 23 to November 15, the 33-year-old was stealing from the Co-op in Dartmouth Court at least twice a week, taking washing detergent, cleaning products, meat, wine, and pizza.

On Monday November 2, Gattrell stole pizzas, two bottles of wine, and meat worth £41.15.

He was arrested by a police patrol in Gosport on Saturday.

He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison and will have to pay £128 in compensation.
