A MAN has been taken to hospital after getting stabbed in a mass brawl.

Police have launched an investigation after a large fight broke out in Forton Road, Gosport, in the early hours of this morning.

One man was stabbed in the arm and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

It is unknown exactly how many people were caught up in the fight, or why it broke out.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called at 12.05am on Saturday, July 11 to a report of a group fighting in Forton Road, Gosport.

‘Officers attended and a 41-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his arm.

‘He was taken to hospital. His injuries have been described as serious but not life-threatening.

‘An investigation is under way.

‘No arrests have been made at this stage.’
