Motorcyclist avoids prison

A RIDER who refused to give a breath test has been given a suspended prison term.

Karl Gates, 26, of Plumley Walk, Havant, admitted the November 4 offence in Portsmouth.

He also admitted driving a motorbike while banned and without insurance in Locksway Road, Milton.

Portsmouth magistrates imposed a 12-week prison term suspended for 12 months with three-year driving ban.

Gates must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £50 costs.
