Police appeal for victims over suspected female beggar who forced entry to homes

POLICE have launched an appeal for the public to come forward with information following reports of a female beggar going door-to-door asking for money – who is also suspected of forcing entries to some properties.

Gosport officers, in a post on social media, confirmed it knew the identity of the woman in question.

But the authority wants more victims to come forward to help with its investigation.

‘We're aware of a female who has been going door-to-door and asking for money,’ police wrote.

‘We're also aware that this female may have forced entry to some properties.’

A subsequent update said: ‘Following on from our previous post, we'd just like to confirm that we do know the identity of the female.

‘However, we are simply appealing for more of you to come forward if you believe you are one of her victims, and if you haven't already got in touch.
