Police called to reported Southsea party breaking lockdown rules

POLICE were called to a public disturbance in Southsea yesterday after receiving reports of a party.

Neighbours in Alhambra Road described seeing a gathering of people breaking lockdown rules and hearing loud karaoke music being played.

Police have confirmed officers attended a home on the street to break up a gathering.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called to a report of a party at a property on Alhambra Road just after 5pm on May 24 where loud music could be heard and it was reported those involved were in breach of government restrictions.

‘Officers attended the address and engaged with those present and encouraged those who were believed not to live at the address to leave.’

Police have confirmed no arrests were made.
