Police confirm Southsea man, 69, dies in crash on A3(M)

POLICE are continuing their investigation after a man died during a crash on the A3(M) yesterday.

A previously reported, collision took place at 11.42am at junction 3 of the highway in Waterlooville and involved two cars and a lorry.

Officers have this morning confirmed that a 69-year-old man from Southsea died during the crash.

A spokesman from Hampshire police said: ‘Despite best efforts of the emergency services, the driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger from the same car has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

‘Next of kin have been informed and are being support by specialist officers.’

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash – or those with dashcam footage that was recorded in the area at the time of the collision – to come forward.
