A small blue van crashed into a parked Ford Transit in Morris Close, at the junction with Wych Lane, at 8.40am on Thursday.
Officers say that a considerable amount of damage was caused to the Ford Transit before the blue van was seen to drive away from the scene.
Witnesses said the van had a roof rack.
Nobody was injured during the incident. But police are now urging more witnesses to the collision to come forward.
