Police investigating Southsea moped crash where 4x4 driver drove off
A TEENAGE moped rider was injured after a collision with a 4x4 in Southsea yesterday.
Police officers are investigating after an 18-year-old man riding a grey Piaggio moped collided with the car in Blackfriars Road at 5.10pm on Thursday.
It was a narrow section of the road, at the junction with Hyde Park Road.
The driver of the 4x4, reported to be a woman with blonde hair, drove off without stopping.
An earlier version of this story described the woman as having grey hair but police have since amended description.
PC Nick Gard said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses to identify the 4x4 vehicle and its driver.
‘Did you see what happened, or have CCTV or dashcam footage showing the incident?
‘If you were the driver, we are keen to speak to you to find out what happened, so please get in touch with us.’
