Police investigating street race along A3 in Hampshire

THREE drivers placed other motorists in mortal danger by racing along a busy road at the weekend.

Hampshire Constabulary is investigating reports that three cars – a blue BMW, a black Range Rover and a dark Renault Clio – raced one another up the A3 on Sunday night.

Now, as enquiries continue, police are calling for anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.

A spokeswoman for the police force said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses to dangerous driving offences on the A3, northbound from Waterlooville.

‘As well as driving dangerously by weaving through traffic and sandwiching each other between other vehicles on the road.

‘The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Sunday, July 19. Luckily, no accidents were caused.

‘Were you on the A3 at the relevant time? Perhaps you have dash-cam footage of one of the vehicles driving erratically?’
