Police need youngsters

YOUNG people are being invited to help tackle crime.

Anyone aged between 14 and 25 in Hampshire can apply to become a member of the Youth Commission.

Set up by Hampshire’s police and crime commissioner Simon Hayes, the group informs police about issues confronting young people.

Applications for the commission close on Friday.

Mr Hayes said: ‘I set up the Youth Commission because I believe it’s important to take young people’s views into account.

‘They are our future and will drive social change.

‘I encourage any young person, including those who have direct experience of the police and justice systems, to apply.’
