Police release e-ft of man after woman assaulted in Portsmouth churchyard

The victim was injured in an unprovoked attacked by a man at the churchyard at St Mary’s Church in Fratton at around 3am on Tuesday.
The woman, who is in her 50s, suffered some face injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Hide AdThe man was white, very slim, in his late 20s or early 30s, had dark curly hair at ear length, was pale, had wide dark eyes and a round child-like face.
He was wearing a light-coloured top, round ‘Harry Potter’ style glasses and had a rucksack on his back.
Police have now released an e-fit of a man they wish to identify as part of their enquiries.
A force spokesman said: ‘Do you know who he is? Have you seen him in the area?

Hide Ad‘Officers have been carrying out patrols and speaking with people in this area.
‘We believe there may have been another man walking through the churchyard immediately prior to the attack, and would ask this person to come forward in case they saw something significant, or saw the person responsible for the assault in the area around this time.’
