Police thank public for helping to finding missing pensioner, 82, last seen in Southsea

POLICE have thanked the public for helping to find a missing pensioner who disappeared in Southsea earlier today.

Officers launched an urgent appeal for help in tracing Michael Papworth.

The 82-year-old was last seen in the Marmion Road area of Southsea just after 1pm today.

His family were concerned for his welfare, police said.

However, hours after posting the plea for help, officers announced Mr Papworth had been found.

A spokesman for the force added: ‘Thank you as ever to everyone who has shared our appeal, we really do appreciate your help.’
