Uddin raped the woman on August 29 in an alleyway off Clarendon Road, Southsea.

Police previously said the victim is receiving support from specialist officers.

Judge William Ashworth remanded Uddin into custody ahead of sentencing on December 23.

Uddin pleaded guilty to rape. A senior police officer previously said it was a ‘stranger’ attack and was unusual for Portsmouth.

He was previously bailed but was brought back to court and remanded.

Last month when no interpreter was present, judge Ashworth said he would speak to the appropriate person to explain it was ‘completely inappropriate’ that contractor Big Word did not provide someone.

At the hearing on October 20 he said it was ‘very bad news’ the case was delayed.

Uddin does speak some English but not enough for his defence barrister to explain the DNA evidence, the court heard.

Three previously arrested men, 20, 25 and 37, all from Portsmouth, will face no action.

Police were seen in an alleyway between Fisherman's Kitchen and Riva 6 beauty after the attack at around 10pm.
