Portsmouth police hunt driver who hit cyclist after going wrong way on one-way road

Police are looking for a car driver who was involved in a hit and run collision in Portsmouth.

A cyclist was hit by the vehicle on Grange Road in North End after the driver turned left onto the street from Derby Road, despite there being a one-way system and no entry signs in place.

The incident happened shortly after 9.55pm on Saturday December 19.

Police said the vehicle drove away without stopping. The cyclist, a 26-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or has any further information.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: ‘Were you driving along this road? Did you see the collision, or did you see the vehicle or the bike before or after the collision took place?’

Anyone with dashcam footage of the area is also asked to get in touch.
