Racist yobs dump bacon through letter box and leave rubbish on Southsea doorstep

RACIST yobs targeted a man at his Southsea home after trying to break in before dumping rubbish on his doorstep and posting bacon through his letter box.

Hemin Ahmed, who is a muslim, admitted the attack was ‘scary’ but luckily avoided the incident after popping out for exercise at 3.50pm on Friday in Campbell Road.

Residents saw two men arrive at the scene before shouting racist abuse and trying to enter the premises, according to the victim.

The assailants were unable to gain access and made a swift exit after leaving a massive pile of rubbish and dirt at the victim’s doorstep.

Mr Ahmed, 30, said: ‘It’s scary because they came to attack me but I wasn’t in. If I was it could have been a different story. Something terrible could have happened. I don’t know if they will come back.

‘People saw two men shouting racist abuse and trying to break in. They couldn’t get in but left rubbish and bacon everywhere.

‘They posted bacon through my letterbox and stuck it on my window because they know I’m a muslim and they did it to annoy me. I’m pretty sure I know who did it.’

He added: ‘It’s shocking. I’ve never had any problems with any neighbours in the two years I’ve lived here.’

A police spokeswoman said: ‘Our officers are following up several lines of enquiry, as well as patrolling in the area.’
