REGIONAL: '˜Pupil had knife held to his throat at school'

A boy reportedly had a knife held at his throat at a Hampshire school.

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident after details emerged in a Facebook post by a worried parent.

It is reported that the victim had a craft knifeheld to his throat at The Mountbatten School in Romsey.

The school confirmed there had been an incident involving two pupils, that appropriate action had been taken and that police were involved but would not comment further.

Hampshire Police said in a statement: ‘We have received a report of a non-injury assault involving a boy at The Mountbatten School, in Whitenap Lane, Romsey, which took place on Wednesday, March 8.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of what happened. No arrests have been made in relation to this investigation at this time.’
