Second man arrested after Hampshire high street fight which left victim with head injuries

A SECOND man has been arrested after a fight left someone in a critical condition.

A 24-year-old man suffered serious head injuries outside the Vodafone store in Alton High Street early yesterday morning and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

A 25-year-old man from Alton has already been arrested, but police have now arrested a second, 20-year-old, man.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The incident happened just after midnight on July 26, in the High Street, Alton, close to the Vodafone store.

‘A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Alton, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

‘They both remain in police custody at this time.

‘Anyone who hasn't already spoken with police but who has any information about this incident is asked to call us on 101, quoting Operation Infringe or 44200279176.’
