The ‘emaciated’ brown terrier-type dog – named Tina by those who rescued her – was thrown out of a car in Sheep Lane, Corhampton, on July 14.

Witnesses said that animal was abandoned by a white man driving a silver BMW 3 series shortly after 9.30am.

‘She is very nervous but has shown no signs of aggression and is a sweet-natured girl.

‘A check on the car’s registration plate – a silver BMW 3 series – shows that it is not registered. One of the witnesses did speak to the driver briefly and described him as being white, tall, slim and speaking with a posh accent.

‘I would like to find out who this man is and hope someone recognises Tina or the description of the man and vehicle. It is such a heartless thing to do especially as Tina is not in the best of health and it is thought the latest birth must have taken place fairly recently and she should still be with the puppies who will still depend on her at such a young age.’

The RSPCA said the poor pup had been ‘bred and bred’ and was very underweight, suffering from a skin condition which is leading to fur loss.

Emergency treatment has been given to the dog, which is now in the care of The Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter.

It’s hoped Tina will soon be ready to be rehomed. But Inspector Story added: ‘She is still very poorly so the team at the animal shelter are not yet taking applications for rehoming and have asked for people to wait until her profile is shared on the centre’s website once she is ready to start looking for her perfect match.’
