Teenager due in court charged with murder of mum Joanna Thompson in Hambledon

A TEENAGER is due in court charged with the murder of a mother-of-two in a village.

Hampshire police said the teenager is charged with murdering 50-year-old Joanna Thompson in Hambledon.

Her body was found at an address in Vicarage Lane on July 1 last year.

Now the child will appear at Salisbury Crown Court tomorrow, with the court sitting as a youth court for the youngster’s first appearance.

Hampshire police confirmed the appearance today.

The force said the teenager was summonsed to court by postal requisition.

Previously a friend, Caroline Vine, who knew Ms Thompson for years, told The News: ‘I feel sick and so sad. She was such a lovely lady.

‘She was beautiful on the inside and out.’

Police have declined to give details of the teenager’s age or gender.
