A Sea of Poppies is a project was arranged by Alexsis Seed, the owner of the haberdashery and wool shop Seeded on Clarendon Road. She put out an appeal for knitted flowers for the project A Sea of Poppies back in June, and organised the collection, counting, sewing and displaying of thousands of the flowers.

The creation was unveiled earlier this month ahead of Remembrance Sunday which takes place this weekend.
Serving personnel, veterans and youth groups will take part in the main parade at 10.30am on Sunday (November 8) in the Guildhall Square. This will be followed by a two-minute silence at 11am and the service itself. Wreaths will then be laid at the First World War Cenotaph and Second World War Memorial.
An emotional memorial has also been scheduled on Armistice Day itself on November 11 at the Cenotaph.
