Coastguard and police deployed to Mountbatten Leisure Centre amid welfare concern nearby

Emergency services flocked to a leisure centre car park last night following a welfare report.

Multiple crew members from the coastguard were spotted near Mountbatten Leisure Centre last night (August 26).

This comes following a welfare concern, and the incident also saw the police deployed to the scene.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said: “HM Coastguard assisted Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary respond to an incident reported near the Mountbatten Centre at about 8.15pm on 26 August.”

The police have been contacted for a comment.
