M27: Man falls from Hampshire motorway bridge at junctions 2 and 3 amid 'police-led incident'
Traffic is being diverted while emergency services work at the scene
A man has been rushed to hospital after falling from a motorway bridge.
Police and paramedics have rushed to the scene on the M27 westbound this morning (September 3). The route was closed for a period of time between junctions 2 and 3 while the emergency services responded to the incident.
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called just before 11am to a report a man had fallen from a bridge onto the M27 between junctions 2 and 3. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.”
National Highways South East said the route was reopened following a “police-led incident”. They added: “M27 has reopened westbound within J3 near Southampton. Lane two and three is running past scene while lane 1 remains closed.
“There are delays in excess of 45 minutes, these should begin to ease.”
