There was certainly a blooming good time to be had in a shopping centre.

On Saturday, the Fareham Flower Club took the opportunity to sell daffodil posies for Mother’s Day. Although it normally meets in Wallington Village Hall, the club sold its flowers in Fareham Shopping Centre.

All 600 of its posies were sold between 9am to 3.30pm.

Members decided to raise the money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as they wanted to keep it local and support a nearby charity and managed to raise a total of £650.

Club member Sandy Mitchell said: ‘We had a great time.

‘When our regulars know we’re going to be there, they tend to come along.’
