Leader of Gosport Borough Council Mark Hook said: ‘Stokes Bay is the perfect venue for people to come along and see the spectacle.

‘I think that’s why they have come back.

‘It is a good way to put Gosport on the map and it shows that they have confidence in coming to Gosport.

‘When you think they go around the world for this race series, it’s brilliant they still choose Stokes Bay.’

The two-day event will see jet skis and P1 powerboats go against each other in a series of races.

The exciting, fast off-shore action will be joined by different activities nearby, including a live music evening.

Starting at 11am on Saturday, families can watch four races over the weekend including practice sessions.

And there will be jet ski displays and RIB boats taking part in challenges.

Cllr Hook added: ‘It will be a great weekend.

‘It will be something for everyone to enjoy.’

The live music on Saturday starts at 4.30pm while on Sunday, it will be performed throughout the day starting at 12.30pm.

‘The council has again put in a huge amount of effort to support the event.

‘The inclusion of several on-land attractions including a fun fair, craft market and live music will certainly ensure that there’s something for all the family to enjoy over the weekend

‘For the participating teams, racing in the Stokes Bay can present a variety of challenges and, with it looking likely that the wind will pick up on Sunday, we could be in for some really exciting and spectacular racing on the Solent.’
