Havant church celebrates 60 years

Right now, things are very exciting here as we find ourselves in the middle of a programme of events celebrating the 60th anniversary of Havant Methodist Church.

There has been a Methodist presence in Havant since 1898. We moved into our current building in 1958 and are so glad that we have been able to continue to be part of the Havant community.

We work with all sorts of community groups as well as churches of other denominations, and extend a warm welcome to local residents, as well as running our regular pattern of worship and fellowship, and our own weekly programme of activities.

We have a Pastoral Centre next to the church, which is open to passers-by for refreshments every weekday morning.

It is staffed by volunteers from local churches, and continues to provide a warm welcome to all.

It provides a place to sit down, meet friends and have a chat. There's even Auntie's Emporium of pre-loved items!

Our volunteers are always on hand to talk with visitors. Why not pop in for a cuppa any weekday from 9.30am to midday?

We are also pleased to host a number of groups which meet here. You'll find our building being used by groups from the NHS, MIND, The Alzheimer's Society, Havant Passion Play, Adult Urban Vocal Group, Spirit of the South and more. You might even hear a rock band rehearsing!

Busy as we are, it would be great to welcome even more people here.

We are currently seeking ways of making our presence known to the wider community, advertising our events and activities to a wider audience.

We would also love to see our building being used to its full potential.

With a number of rooms and halls available for hire, we would welcome enquiries from individuals and groups looking to host a one-off event or a regular meeting.
