Holocaust MemorialDay's hate crime plea

People are being urged to challenge each other's thinking about hate crime as part of a campaign to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day next Wednesday.

Chichester District Council is one of several local authorities supporting the campaign which is themed around the idea of Don’t Stand By.

Councillors are asking people to think about what they can do when they know or see something happening which concerns them.

Holocaust Memorial Day encourages people to remember the genocides of the past and reflect on the importance of learning lessons from history.

The campaign aims to make people realise that they can take a leading role in challenging and putting a stop to discrimination in order to make their communities safer and healthier places for everyone.
