Progress is being made at the new state-of-the-art fire station in Cosham.

Work at the site between Northern Road and Southampton Road, formerly the PCMI building, started in February 2023 and since then the progress has been significant. Cosham fire crews will continue operation in their current Wayte Street station until the new one is finished, which is expected to be this summer.

The scheme is part of the £27m county-wide ‘station investment programme’, which also includes the rebuild of one of its Southampton fire stations. The new three-story station will have improved training facilities, separate clean and dirty zones for managing contamination.
