Car fanatics will be in heaven as the Beach Dubbin classic car show returns to Southsea Common.

The Beach Dubbin show is making it’s triumphant return to Southsea Common on August 7

The annual bonanza attracts scores of motoring fanatics from across the country, with this year’s offering promising to showcase hundreds of vintage cars and Volkswagens..

The free spectacle aims to raise thousands of pounds for local charities, including The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Charlotte Crotty, one of the show’s organisers, said : ‘It is just all about giving back to the local community and what we do is we try to keep it affordable for people.

‘We just want to get people out and about and with the cost of living and the summer holidays we want to get people out, and we want to inspire kids to love these cars and keep the tradition going.’

In 2021, the show raised a whopping £16,000 for the air ambulance and the Undercover Skate Park Project.

The day will have a range of cars on show, which can be part of the display for £10 per car, and people on foot will be able to access the event for free.

The event has already seen roughly 500 cars pre-book and 200 cars enter into the Show and Shine Competition.

This year the event is being sponsored by Hide Away Campervans, Shore Tees Ltd, CampBoxx Ltd and Classicline Insurance.

The day out will include a range of local traders, caterers, a family area and entertainment.

The shows are being sponsored by Saltrock, Breeze Van Centres, SGS Aircooled and Just Kampers.

Saltrock, based in Southsea, are going to be bringing balance boards for children to get involved in and there are a range of free activities for families to enjoy including Jiggy Wrigglers.

Charlotte added: ‘We want to donate a load of money to charity and that is part of the day.

‘It is about giving back to the community and providing a good day out for everyone.’

This year’s action is taking place between 10am and 4pm.
