Here are 11 beautiful dogs that are currently up for adoption with a Hampshire rehoming charity.
Phoenix Rehoming, which is Hampshire based, is a charity that aims to find forever homes for precious pooches that have either been found without a home, or have had to be given up by their owner.
The charity has a team of volunteers who foster dogs that come into their care and since the pandemic, the numbers have increased significantly.
Rio is a sweet and loving one-year-old mixed breed girl who currently weighs 21kg. Nervous around new people, she takes some time to bond, but once she trusts you, she will give you all her affection and loyalty. Rio has been in her foster home for three months and they are still working to help her gain confidence and trust people again. She is well crate trained, she goes to her crate or under the kitchen table to feel safe and secure in her own space. She sleeps through the night in her crate and is fully toilet trained. Rio feeds off the confident behaviour of other dogs, helping her feel more secure in her environment. She is excellent with the resident cat and two resident dogs in her foster home, as well as two other foster pups that have been through since her arrival. Rio also loves to get strokes and treats from the child in the foster home who is seven. Although she can be nervous around parked cars and vans, she is fine when meeting other dogs outdoors but may be wary of their owners at first.
She would be a great exercise buddy for someone who loves the outdoors such as long walks in the countryside or running - she has been on a few canicross runs of up to 8km. Rio is equally content to lounge around, enjoying tummy rubs and the company of her human friends and fellow furry companions. The ideal home for Rio would be a quiet one with a confident dog companion to help her thrive. The adoption fee is £425 and to see what this price includes, please go to the charity's website. Stanlee is a 2-year-old collie cross girl. Around 17kg. She is exceptionally smart and enjoys learning. Please read her advert very carefully. She will now be looking for a home with someone who has some experience with rescue dogs and/or interest in dog sports. Stanlee will thrive doing agility, Hoopers, heel work, trick training, Canix or similar. She is an exceptionally smart dog and needs an equally smart owner. She has completed a two-day scent work course and is progressing into the next agility course.
Stanlee has been trained with clicker. She will also work on a marker word. This girl works for dust, she is exceptionally motivated.
She’s come such a long way since being surrendered and she’s now ready to find her forever home.
She can be anxious around new people initially. She sees strangers and will sometimes bark. This is all fear based, she is worried about their intentions. She is wary of strangers coming into the home and will bark to begin with, but this quickly changes. She has learned to go quietly to her bed where she knows she is safe. We are now in a position where Stanlee can learn to like people quite quickly, in just a couple of sessions at her pace. This makes her unsuitable for a home with young children. She would be ideally suited to a home with another playful male dog though could be an only dog.

Finley is a 6 month old boy currently in foster in Somerset. He’s around 10 kg and mostly fluff. He is still a puppy and loves playing, sniffing and napping.
He is a bit mouthy when he wants to play but can be distracted with a toy to chew instead of hands. He’s working on ‘sit’ for strokes and food and he sits nicely to have his harness and lead put on and off.
He’s settled quickly into home life, is house trained and loves napping on the sofa.
He is an active boy, his adopters will need to dedicate time for walking and play.
Finley is very food motivated which makes him a good candidate for ongoing training.
Out of the house Finley is still a bit nervous but enjoys quiet walks and loves sniffing and running on a long lead. He’s working on recall in and out the house and is doing well. He can be a bit worried on busy roads.
He currently is fearful of other dogs and barks so needs help with confidence building and training in this area. It’s very early days with training but he’s already learned so much and he is developing into an even more amazing dog
He has not been neutered as vets advise he’s still too young. The adoption fee is £425 and to see what this includes, visit the charity's website. Photo: Phoenix Rehoming
Neo is an 18-month-old coated Mexican Hairless dog who is looking for his perfect home. He is good with dogs he knows and he has lived with dogs of all sizes, but he is a big playful puppy and would not suit living with a nervous or shy dog.
Neo has lived with children 6+ and he has had a rough start in life. This has left him reactive towards dogs and people - he is not an aggressive dog but exhibits lots of excitement and frustration.
He becomes reactive around livestock and he requires lots of management to help him live his best life.
He has received lots of training with professionals and understands all his obedience cues, can settle at home, is good at being left and is good on walks with minimal distractions.
Neo needs someone willing to put time into his ongoing training. His adopter will get all our help and support during and post adoption.
