Fire crews scramble to stop blaze in garage spreading to other properties in Park Gate

Fire fighters have been called to a blaze that destroyed a garage in a Park Gate property.

Crews from fire stations in Fareham and High Town attended the fire in Park Glen at 6pm this evening.

The fire ‘completely destroyed’ a brick-built garage and caused slight damage to a neighbouring property, according to an attending firefighter.

He said: ‘There was some equipment in the garage at the time.

‘We have no idea how it started – its very difficult to say given the extent of the damage.

‘There was slight damage to a neighbouring property, with damage to the fascia and the guttering.

‘Our main priority was to stop the fire spreading to other properties.

‘We were at the scene for about an hour and a half.’

The owner of the garage raised the alarm and no one was injured during the incident.
