Gosport schoolgirl writes heartfelt letter to firefighting 'heroes'

A SCHOOLGIRL has written an emotional letter thanking firefighters for their hard work in her town.

Firefighters at Gosport Fire Station received a letter from youngster Grace White, who wrote them a ‘huge thank you’.

In her letter, the Grange Junior School pupil called the firefighters ‘heroes’ for their efforts.

She said: ‘When I see a fire truck going to help out, I always think how lucky we are to have you looking after us.

‘I believe you are so crucial in helping our community.

‘It is crazy to think during this unusual time you are still working so hard every day. So on behalf of the local community, thank you.’

The letter touched the hearts of firefighters at the station, with watch manager Nick Mills saying the letter was an ‘uplifting’ boost.

He said: ‘It’s really nice to be appreciated.

‘This is our job and we don't do it for the thanks, but this was really lovely.’
