The purse held great sentimental value to the owner, whose deceased partner purchased it for her before he passed.

The purse holds the last photo taken of him within, several cards including an Age Concern card and £150 in cash.

The owner is desperate for the photos and purse itself to be returned - the other contents are not her concern, according to a Hampshire Constabulary representative.

Posting on social media, the police representative said: ‘CCTV has been checked and the purse was picked up by a white female, dark hair with parting over her left side, black jacket with fur hood and silver zip, blue ripped jeans.

‘She was with a child on the school run at the time she found the purse.
