'Heartbroken' fiancee reveals 'life will never be same again' after popular Lee-on-the-Solent man suddenly dies aged 36

Ann Jordan, 32, would already have married her ‘amazing’ partner Steven Bremner, 36, but for the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead she is now facing up to the devastating reality she will never see the ‘most important person in her life’ again after being robbed of the chance to start a family with the Lee-on-the-Solent man who ‘would do anything for anyone’.

Ann was at home when Steven walked in the door after playing football and complained of feeling unwell before falling to the ground on July 29.

Despite Ann’s best efforts and those of paramedics he was sadly pronounced dead later at Queen Alexandra Hospital from natural causes.

It has left Ann going from planning a wedding in March next year to tragically planning a funeral at Portchester Crematorium on August 19 for her ‘rock’.

The horrendous blow has left friends rallying around to pay for Steven’s funeral with a Go Fund Me campaign.

Such was Steven’s popularity in the community he grew up in, the £4,500 target has already nearly been met.

Ann told The News she still couldn’t believe Steven was gone. ‘Steven was an amazing, caring, loving fiance. He was my rock,’ she said.

‘My life, soulmate - the love of my life. I am still in shock and still can’t believe that I have lost the most important person in my life.’

Steven took Ann to New York in 2018 for the trip of a lifetime where he proposed to her at the top of the Empire State Building.

They are memories she will always cherish. ‘Steven was always the one that got me to do things and I’m so glad that I was able,’ Ann said.

‘I had the most amazing experience of going to New York. Steven made it even more special and asked me to marry him on the top of The Empire State building.’

She added: ‘We had so many plans like going to Las Vegas and Los Angeles and then thinking of starting our own family, which now will never happen.

‘Steven was my life and I still don’t know how I am going to get through this.

‘My life is never going to be the same and I miss, love and adore him. Steve is my life, my everything.

‘I still cant believe that I won’t be able to see him in the mornings as I wake up and be the last person I see at night.

‘My heart is broken and I will never say goodbye Steven. As I always say...sweet dreams. I love and miss you with all my heart.’

Ann also revealed her appreciation to Steven’s close friends Stuart and Natasha Polman, who set up the Go Fund Me campaign.

She said: ‘Steven has the most amazing friends. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me and the family during this hard time.’

Stuart, 35, grew up with Steven - a service parts specialist at local garage Fine Cars - and said he was ‘fooling’ around as usual the day before he died during a quiz on online video platform Zoom.

‘He was full of humour and was joking about how he turned me down from playing football with him and his friends when I went over and asked to join in when we were aged about nine and 10,’ he said.

‘Every weekend as a kid he would go and wash cars before he got a job working for Fine Cars when he was grown up. It’s what he loved, as well as football and motorsports.

‘He would help anyone who had trouble with their car. He would say: “Get me the part and I’ll do it for you.”

‘Steven was a top guy - a solid bloke - who would do anything for anybody. We are so touched - as are Ann and Steven’s family - by everyone’s generosity in donating for his funeral.

‘Steven would be surprised and touched by it all too. We hope to give him the send-off he deserves.’
