Loft '80 per cent' destroyed after fire in Purbrook house

A LOFT has been left ‘80 per cent’ destroyed after a fire.

A crew from Cosham Fire Station were called to Stakes Road in Purbrook just after midnight last night after reports of a loft fire.

Six firefighters used breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

A spokesman from Cosham Fire Station said: ‘We were called to a house fire in Stakes Road and discovered that the fire was in the loft but it had not broken out into the house.

‘The loft was 80 per cent destroyed. There were no injuries and the owners were waiting outside the house when we arrived.’

The cause of the fire was unknown.
