M27 incidents today: Police give update after three crashes cause "severe delays" this morning for drivers

Police have provided an update following three crashes on the M27 this morning that resulted in “severe delays” for drivers.

The first of the incidents happened between Portsmouth and Fareham heading eastbound. A police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.23am today to a report of a road traffic collision on the M27 between junction 11 and junction 12 eastbound. A car had hit the central reservation. No injuries were reported.”

Two further crashes were then reported near Southampton Airport around an hour later. The spokeswoman said: “We were called at 6.22am this morning to reports of two separate road traffic collisions on the M27 westbound near junction 5. A single-vehicle collision had taken place and one minor injury was reported.

“Meanwhile, another collision had occurred involving two vehicles. One minor injury was reported. All lanes are now running.”
