M27 drivers facing "severe delays" after three crashes by Portsmouth and Southampton Airport

M27 drivers are facing "severe delays" after three crashes on Hampshire’s major motorway this morning.

The incidents happened eastbound and westbound. The eastbound crash happened between Portsmouth and Farerham at junction 12-11. A post from live travel service Romanse around 7am said: “M27 Eastbound - One lane BLOCKED between J11/A27 #Fareham and J12/#M275 #PortSolent due to an RTI, delays building.”

Another crash, reported around the same time, happened between junction 7 and 5. “M27 Westbound - all traffic being held between J7/A334 #HedgeEnd and J5/A335 #Eastleig due to an RTI, heavy delays,” a post from Romanse said.

According to AA Traffic News the incident was first reported around 5.30am. A post said: “Severe delays and two lanes closed due to two crashes on M27 Westbound from J7 A334 Charles Watts Way (Hedge End) to J5 A335 Stoneham Way (Southampton Airport / Eastleigh). Traffic was held at around 6.35 for around 30 minutes.”
