Man seriously injured after falling '15ft' from a roof in Portsmouth

AN air ambulance landed after a man fell from a roof in Portsmouth.

He is said to be ‘seriously injured' after falling 15 feet from a property in Hilldowns Avenue, Tipner.

The man has since been taken to University Hospital Southampton, South Central Ambulance service have said.

A Scas spokesman added: ‘The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, along with two ambulances and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle, have all responded to an incident on Hilldowns Avenue where someone has fallen approximately 15ft from the roof of one of the properties on the road.

He continued: ‘The male patient has sustained serious injuries in the fall and following initial treatment at the scene, has now been taken by road to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton with the air ambulance team travelling with the patient to hospital.'

A number of people reported seeing the air ambulance land at around 9am today in the area.
