Mother and child rescued after becoming stuck in mudflats in Havant
A MOTHER and child had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming stranded in mudflats in Havant.
The pair had ‘become stuck in mud up to their knees’ after walking on the tidal mudflats close to the shoreline of Harts Farm Way.
Three fire appliances were deployed from Havant Fire Station along with a vehicle from Fareham and a rescue unit from Cosham after being alerted to the stranded pair at 4.07pm this afternoon (March 1).
The mother and child were rescued using an inflatable mud path which created a solid platform for them to walk to safety.
No medical treatment was required and fire crews were stood down at 4.44pm.
