7. Escape room fun
If you are looking for something a bit more unusual for your mum to get involved in for Mother's Day, you could take her to an escape room. Exciting Escapes, which is based in London Road, Portsmouth, has a range of different room options that you can try and find your way out of, and it would be a perfect group activity for families to get involved in. The average cost to take part in an escape room is £21 per person but there is a discount that can be applied to the price on a Sunday to make it slightly cheaper. The room options include danger on the dancefloor, murder at the cinema, the voices we hear and dark deeds and groceries. The New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth, will be opening its doors for a Mother's Day showing of Stars of Oz on Sunday 19, 2023. Lucy Kate Dance Academy has returned to the theatre for another year to showcase the work of its students and there will be two showings on Sunday for the whole family to enjoy.
