Mum and child escape Havant home fire after perfectly executing safety advice

After a kitchen fire suddenly erupted around 4.30pm on Monday at the East Street property, the duo were able to make a hasty beeline for the door after the alarm was sounded by a smoke alarm.
‘The mother and child got out having closed the doors behind them and then phoned the fire service,’ Havant crew manager Glenn Kavanagh said. ‘The smoke alarm alerted them to the fire before the occupants got themselves out.’

Hide AdThe fire was quickly put out by firefighters using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel.
