AN 89-year-old woman has died after being hit by a lorry.

The collision happened just after 1pm on Monday in Station Road in New Milton.

Police have said that it involved an elderly pedestrian and a DAF lorry.

Margaret Fraser of Waverley Road, New Milton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.
