Portsmouth bin collection dates for Christmas 2020 – latest changes for city, Havant, Gosport, Fareham and East Hampshire

For Portsmouth residents the festive season will see a change to rubbish and recycling collection days.

With all the bank holidays between Christmas and New Year it can be hard to keep track of when you actually need to put your bins out.

So we have put together a round up of when waste collection will take place over the festive period.

Here are the change in collection dates for over Christmas;

Portsmouth City Council

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, December 25, they will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, December 28, they will be collected on Tuesday, December 29

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, December 29, they will be collected on Wednesday, December 30

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, they will be collected on Thursday, December 31

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Thursday, December 31, they will be collected on Saturday, January 2

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, January 1 they will be collected on Monday, January 4

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, January 4 they will be collected on Tuesday, January 5

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, January 5 they will be collected on Wednesday, January 6

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Wednesday, January 6 they will be collected on Thursday, January 7

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Thursday, January 7 they will be collected on Friday, January 8

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, January 8 they will be collected on Saturday, January 9

Havant Borough Council

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, December 25, they will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, December 28, they will be collected on Tuesday, December 29

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, December 29, they will be collected on Wednesday, December 30

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, they will be collected on Thursday, December 31

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Thursday, December 31, they will be collected on Saturday, January 2

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, January 1 they will be collected on Monday, January 4

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, January 4 they will be collected on Tuesday, January 5

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, January 5 they will be collected on Wednesday, January 6

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Wednesday, January 6 they will be collected on Thursday, January 7

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Thursday, January 7 they will be collected on Friday, January 8

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, January 8 they will be collected on Saturday, January 9

Gosport Borough Council

Over the festive period, starting with Christmas on December 25 recycling bins will be collected a day later – according to the council’s website.

Non-recycling black bins due to be collected on January 1 will also be collected a day later.

Fareham Borough Council

If you live in Fareham your collection day will change over the Christmas period.

We have broken down the changes into recycling and refuse.

Recycling

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Friday, December 25, it will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Monday, December 28, it will be collected on Tuesday, December 29

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Tuesday, December 29, it will be collected on Wednesday, December 30

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, it will be collected on Thursday, December 31

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Thursday, December 31, it will be collected on Saturday, January 2

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Friday, January 1, it will be collected on Monday, January 4

- If your recycling is due to be collected on Monday, January 4, it will be collected on Friday, January 5

Normal collections will resume from January 5.

Refuse

- If your bin is due to be collected on Friday, December 25, it will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your bin is due to be collected on Monday, December 28, it will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your bin is due to be collected on Tuesday, December 29, it will be collected on Tuesday, December 29

- If your bin is due to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, it will be collected on Wednesday, December 30

- If your bin is due to be collected on Thursday, December 31, it will be collected on Thursday, December 31

- If your bin is due to be collected on Friday, January 1, it will be collected on Monday, January 4

Normal collections will resume from January 4.

East Hampshire District Council

If you live in this council area, then here is how your bin collections will change over Christmas period:

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, December 25, they will be collected on Monday, December 28

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, December 28, they will be collected on Tuesday, December 29

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, December 29, they will be collected on Wednesday, December 30

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Wednesday, December 30, they will be collected on Thursday, December 31

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Thursday, December 31, they will be collected on Saturday, January 2

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Friday, January 1 they will be collected on Monday, January 4

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Monday, January 4 they will be collected on Tuesday, January 5

- If your bins and/or recycling are due to be collected on Tuesday, January 5 they will be collected on Wednesday, January 6
