Waterlooville firefighters tackle Denmead car fire

A car was destroyed in a blaze in Denmead this morning.

After receiving a call at 11.08am, one fire crew was sent from Waterlooville Fire Station to the incident on Forest Road.

After being engulfed in flames and ‘despite the best efforts’ of the fire fighters, the black BMW car has been left ‘100 per cent severely damaged’.

Photographs from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service show particular areas of fire damage to the vehicle’s engine, bonnet, passenger door and wing panel.

Firefighters tackling the blaze used two hose reel jets and one jet to extinguish the blaze. Two sets of breathing apparatus were also used.

The fire was extinguished and the fire crew stood down at midday.
