It’s been a whirlwind of a time for Jade Archer and Ed Cowlishaw, who recently tied the knot at the East Horton Golf Club in Eastleigh.

Jade, 26 and Ed, 29, married in the company of about 45 people and had an extra 105 guests at their wedding reception.

Parents, siblings and friends all attended the wedding, along with the couple’s two sons, Oliver, two and George, five months – both of whom were ring bearers.

Jade, who is from Havant, had three flower girls and three bridesmaids: her niece Jasmine Adams, and her two friends Martelle Davis and Anna Moloney.

The bride walked down the aisle with her dad John and her mum Karen.

‘My wedding day was everything I wanted it to be,’ says Jade.

‘I’ve been wanting to get married ever since I can remember and it turned out to be perfect.’

Jade met Ed, who is from Paulsgrove, through friends on a night out in 2012.

‘Ed messaged me on Facebook after the night out and at first I actually ignored him.

‘But about a week later I replied to him and we started going on dates.

‘We did that for a few months before we officially became girlfriend and boyfriend.’

Jade’s friend and bridesmaid Martelle set the wheels of the relationship in motion when she awkwardly asked Jade in front of Ed whether the pair were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Neither of them knew what to say at the time, but Martelle’s comment prompted the pair to decide afterwards that they were.

Four months later, Jade then fell pregnant with Oliver.

‘It wasn’t planned but we were both really happy about it,’ says Jade.

‘Ed proposed to me when I was six months’ pregnant.’

‘He got down on one knee in the living room with some candles, I was so surprised.’

Jade admits that she almost shouted at Ed, as she thought he was about to start playing with the dogs after tidying up shortly before.

‘I came close to crying and said yes straight away, it’s what I’ve always wanted,’ says Jade.

The couple planned to have another baby after the wedding, but Jade fell pregnant with her second son George sooner than expected.

Speaking of her wedding day, Jade says: ‘I think my favourite part of the day was the beginning, looking forward to it and being nervous and excited.

‘Ed loved the day too, but he doesn’t really get nervous.’

Jade says that another of her favourite moments was seeing Ed for the first time on the day of the wedding.

‘I don’t spend much time apart from Ed but we did the night before the wedding, so it was nice to see him.

‘Ed is so caring, he’s a brilliant dad and works very hard to look after us. We’re definitely a family unit.’

Instead of honeymooning, the couple marked their special day by moving into their very own home in Farlington.
